Sometimes children don’t want to listen or follow instructions. Try these tips to see if it makes a difference: say your child’s name and ask that he look at you. Give simple, clear requests, use few words. Be realistic by giving instructions that you know your child is physically and developmentally able to do.

There are many ways you can involve your community in the Stand for Maryland's Children campaign. Use this information to get your community, school, business, organization, neighborhood, family or circle of friends involved. There is nothing more powerful than a group of committed individuals!

What Your Organization or Community Can Do:

Involve your community association, faith community or book club to help educate their neighbors and friends about the important facts about prevention and the Stand For Maryland's Children Campaign.

Help Our Garden Grow by designing your own pinwheel and adding it to our garden. Don’t forget to add your personal message on why you “Stand for Maryland's Children.” This is a fun project to do with children.
Share your Pinwheel with a friend via Facebook, MySpace or email and encourage others to join us. Help us grow 1,000 pinwheels in our Garden by the end of April.
Hold an awareness event in your community.
Build a pinwheel garden in your neighborhood
Hold raffles or sell pinwheels during game nights.
Design flyers, banners or posters focusing on preventing child abuse and Stand for Maryland's Children.
